Hail, Fridays! Today I was completely unproductive until about 3:00, when I finally answered call number 27 from Rosanna's new (and by far the creepiest!) stalker, Timothy.
Haha, since I'll look back on this and giggle later, let us discuss Timothy further. They met at the beginning of this week in their Intro to Acting class. They talked a little, and later on he looked up her phone number and called. Ro is the SWEETEST girl I know (to the point where she has a horrible time of trying to turn people down since she doesn't want to hurt them, even if they are total strangers!), so she obliged to watching a movie with him. So they did that, and the next day he asked her out to lunch and gave her a poem that he wrote for her (ummm...). He went on and on about how incredible she is and how he knows they would make a great couple. She finally said "Um...I don't think I want that right now..." and he started BAWLING. Yes, BAWLING. After knowing her for 2 days!!!!!! So anyway, this kid calls our phone ALL the time, but I never answer because I know it's not for me (I never give out this number cuz I have my cell), and her friends mostly call HER cell. This guy will call, let it ring like 10 times, and then try again 5 minutes later! I think he also calls her cell and leaves a lot of messages, stuff like "Yeah, I have class now, but I miss you and wanted to call again." Ick.
Today I finally answered the phone and took the message. He said he had something to give her before he left for the weekend. He called again 2 hours later, and I didn't answer. Then he called again in five minutes, so I picked up, and he asked for her.
Me: She's still not here, but I did take down your message.
Tim: Oh, okay, do you know when she will be back?
Me: No, Rosanna and I don't memorize each other's schedules, we just come and go.
Tim: Okay, I really need to talk to her again though.
Me: Yeah...hey, do you keep calling here a lot?
Tim: I call sometimes, yeah.
Me: Okay, cuz you keep waking me up from my naps. I sleep a lot during the day.
Tim: I'm sorry.
Me: It's okay, she'll call you when she gets back I'm sure.
Of course, Ro didn't call him back, cuz he's a little freak show with serious issues about women. Tonight I came back with my dinner and saw a plastic bag and a note hanging on our door. I took it inside and found Ro hiding in our closet. "It was him! I didn't want to answer the door!" I cracked up. The note was another poem, and inside the plastic bag was a stuffed St. Bernard that he always sleeps with. He wanted her to "babysit him for the weekend." AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH my poor girl!!!!
Anyway, back to me. So Maddie is awesome, she gave me her extra script of Roosters, yay!!! She is also up for a part against Caitlin for that show, haha. Callbacks will be fierce. At 7:15, I joined Maddie, Katie Kammes, Natalie, Erin, and this Matt kid in the lobby so Maddie could sneak Katie and I into an ACTF show called Metamorphoses (that's right, I am nerdy...yet badass...). Completely randomly, I saw none other than Brian Colbert-Kennedy!!!! I was SO thrilled! We had just talked for the first time in about four months yesterday online, and here he was in the flesh! His hair is INSANE now- a brown and blond afro that feels like alpaca wool, it's gorgeous. And he's coming back next semester, YAY!!!! So many AWESOME first-semester friends are returning to ISU, I am BURSTING with the happiness. :-)
I thought the play was very enjoyable, a fun crowd-pleaser (it was all about Greek mythology, and a high school theatre chum of mine- Curtis Smith- was in it, too! Random!). After the show, we saw Gary Cole, the guy who played Lumburg in Office Space! I didn't get his autograph because I didn't want to be like, yo, I love all the work of yours I haven't seen, but I definitely was so close I could have spanked him. On our way back to Watterson, we played stupid camp games that no one can figure out.
I ran into a cloud of theatre frosh in the lobby, and they all went off to a party at Courtney's. I am tired of big parties. Instead, Marc and I got Dan to drive over and whisk us away to Pizza Hut, where we danced to yodeling music on the juke box as they closed up the restaurant. Haha, we kinda scared the staff. Then we went to Walmart. I love going there with Marc and Dan more than anybody else, they are just fun and open to splurging! We bought lots of Soup at Hand, crackers, sun shaped cheese pieces, and pepperoni. For under 12 dollars, I acquired four Soup at Hands (what a stupid name), cocoa-flavored Chex mix (yum!), granola bars, and the cheddar Munch Mix, not a bad haul! Back at Watterson, we made some soups and ate the pepperoni/cracker/cheese combination at our private Soup and Snack party! We also watched SIX episodes of Undergrads, thereby making Marc an Undergrads graduate who has now seen every episode. That show it SOOOOOOOO wonderful!!!!
We also watched the special features on the DVD, including this cool segment about the "real" counterparts of the characters. The creator based the series off of his own college experience. He is the character of Nitz, the close-minded non-partier who is too shy to act out, and he looks exactly LIKE Nitz, it was weird. There was also info on the real life Cal, Rocko, Gimpy, Kimmy, and Jessie and Dan. Also, did you know that Pete Williams (the creator) did the voices for Nitz, Gimpy, and Cal?! WEIRD!!! Man I WANT that DVD!!!!!!!!!!
I finally returned to my room at 4:00 AM and found a girl sleeping on a couch in our lounge. Rj came down and slept over because his suite is filled with baboon asses. So even though Ro didn't know about it until the morning, it was like a slumber party! Rj and I even gossiped and giggled before we fell asleep at 5:30 or so.
Here's to hoping tonight is as fun as last night! Who's going to the Special Edition TED tonight?!
